From September 20th to 22nd, we competed in the annual Women’s Masters in Basel – and returned as the champions! With a solid performance, we won all four of our group matches and advanced to the playoffs as the second-ranked team.
Group Stage Results:
Game 1 vs. Team Kalocsai-van Dorp (Hungary): 9:0 (W)
Game 2 vs. Team Tuvike (Estonia): 7:3 (W)
Game 3 vs. Team Hürlimann (Switzerland): 7:5 (W)
Game 4 vs. Team Dupont (Denmark): 9:0 (W)
In the quarterfinals, we faced Team Dupont again and secured a 7:3 win. We continued our strong performance in the semifinals against the Scottish Team Henderson, winning 8:4, which earned us a spot in the final.
For the second year in a row, we faced Team Hasselborg from Sweden in the final. We had a strong start, scoring three points in the first end. However, Hasselborg fought back, and by the fifth end, the score was tied at 3:3. But we stepped up our game and won 8:3 – securing our second consecutive title at the Women’s Masters Basel!
With a second-place finish at our first tournament of the season and now this victory, we’ve had a fantastic start to the season.
A special thank you goes out to our fan club for their incredible support in Basel!
Now, we’re looking forward to a well-deserved break and intensive training sessions before heading to the Grand Slam of Curling in Charlottetown on Sunday.
